Primary care physicians (PCPs) also known as general practitioners are the first physicians a patient comes in contact with. Usually they are MD and DO who have undergone rigorous training and specialized in Internal medicine or Family practice. They provide comprehensive care and the visit entails interview type questions and physical examination and give you the possibilities which are called “differential diagnosis” They then devise a treatment plan which may include blood work up, x-ray and referral to a specialist when required to come to a diagnosis. They also prescribe medications as needed and guide you on how to use them.
We accommodate and see you on the same day you seek an appointment. Appointments can be made by directly calling Bassi Clinic @ 602-354-3311 or requesting and directly enrolling on our website at www.bassiclinic.com.
There are no definite recommendations, however it depends on the individual’s needs, age and risk factors. An older individual may seek their primary care physician more often than younger individuals. It is however our recommendation that you should visit your primary care physician (PCP) at least once a year for preventative care and screening as well as to evaluate any change in your health care status.
Your primary care is the first point of contact with a physician and it is recommended that you openly discuss any health concerns that you may have. The interview questions may focus and not be restricted to your family medical history, social history, cultural/ personal preferences, new symptoms that are concerning you, your current list of medications, your lifestyle and your situation at work and home all which can be discussed with your primary care physician.
